He married Esther (wife of Absalom Sturgis). The will of Absolum Sturgis was dated April 28, 1773 and probated October 26, 1773. He named his wife and children. (Stratton Nottingham, Wills & Administrations of Accomack Co. VA)

Absalom Sturgis and Esther(wife of Absalom Sturgis) had the following children:

151 i. Americus⁵ Sturgis. Americus died 1795 in Accomack Co., VA. In 1774, John Sill left his land to his daughters, Ann Ritter Hinman and Mary Boggs, and the balance to Americus Sturgis and John Pitts. Americus sold his 50 acres to Peter Hack, Sr. in 1778. Americus sold 200 acres at A14 in 1780 "now possessed by Christian Sill and Frederick Kellam" to Frederick Kellam. Whitelaw did not know how Americus fit into this land in Accomack County. (Ralph T. 153 iii. Mary Sturgis. Mary died prior to 1795. She married (N)Martin.

154 iv. John Sturgis. John died before 1795.
