He married Adah Brickhouse. Adah was the daughter of William Brickhouse. Adah died after
1766. She released her dower rights to the land at N83 in 1766 when her son, William, sold it. (Ralph T. Whitelaw, Virginia's Eastern
Shore, p. 450) It is not proved that Jacob was the son of Daniel. Witnesses to his will were Richard Sturgis and Daniel Sturgis. Jacob
purchased 230 acres at N83 from 1737. He left 100 acres to his son, Jacob, and 130 acres to his son, William. (Ralph T. Whitelaw, Virginia's
Eastern Shore, p. 450)

William and his wife, Peggy, sold the land to Joab Bell in 1766. A portion of the land was left by Bell for a meeting house for the Baptist
