28. ?Jacob³ Sturgis (Daniel², John¹) birth date unknown. ?Jacob died 1752 in Northampton Co., VA.

He married Adah Brickhouse. Adah was the daughter of William Brickhouse. Adah died after 1766. She released her dower rights to the land at N83 in 1766 when her son, William, sold it. (Ralph T. Whitelaw, Virginia's Eastern Shore, p. 450) It is not proved that Jacob was the son of Daniel. Witnesses to his will were Richard Sturgis and Daniel Sturgis. Jacob purchased 230 acres at N83 from 1737. He left 100 acres to his son, Jacob, and 130 acres to his son, William. (Ralph T. Whitelaw, Virginia's Eastern Shore, p. 450)

?Jacob Sturgis and Adah Brickhouse had the following children:

73 i. William⁴ Sturgis was born before 1752. He married Peggy(wife of William Sturgis). He was called grandson by William Brickhouse in 1760. His father left him 130 acres of land at N83. William and his wife, Peggy, sold the land to Joab Bell in 1766. A portion of the land was left by Bell for a meeting house for the Baptist preachers and is the site of Red Bank Baptist Church. (Ralph T. Whitelaw, Virginia's Eastern Shore, p. 450)

74 ii. Jacob Sturgis was born before 1752. His father left him 100 acres of land at N83 in Northampton County, He sold it to William Floyd in 1773. (Ralph T. Whitelaw, Virginia's Eastern Shore, p. 450)

75 iii. Elizabeth Sturgis was born before 1752.

76 iv. Matthew or Martha Sturgis was born before 1752. The name is either Matthew or Martha; both were used.

77 v. Adah Sturgis was born before 1752.

78 vi. Abigail Sturgis was born before 1752.
