267. John6 Custis (Col.) (Elizabeth5, Margaret4 Michael, Elizabeth3 Thorowgood, Adam2, William1) was born in Accomack Co., VA 1704. John died before February 7, 1732 in Accomack Co., VA, at approximately 27 years of age. (Stratton Nottingham, Wills & Administrations of Accomack Co., VA, p. 98)
He married twice. He married Susanna Bowdoin before 1721. Susanna was born 1704. Susanna died 1727 at 23 years of age. He married Ann Upshur after 1727. Ann was the daughter of Arthur Upshur(Jr.) and Sarah Browne. Ann died before 1738. Ann was not named in her father's will dated May 26, 1738. Her father did name her three children: Hancock & Susanna Custis and William Kendall, calling them grandchildren. (Ralph Whitelaw, Virginia's Eastern Shore, p. 971)
John Custis(Col.) and Ann Upshur had the following children:

Hancock7 Custis. Hancock died after 1748. He was named in the will of
his uncle, Edmund Custis, on March 27, 1747. (James H. Marshall, Wills & Administrations of Northampton Co., VA, p. 324) He was under age 21
in 1738.
