97. Hancock⁵ Custis (Margaret⁴ Michael, Elizabeth³ Thorowgood, Adam², William¹) was born 1680. Hancock died 1728 in Accomack Co., VA, at 48 years of age. (Nottingham p, 92)

He married Mary Browne. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Browne and Susanna Denwood.

He made a will in Accomack Co., VA, August 30, 1725. Probate May 7, 1728. He inherited "Hungars," and was clerk of Northampton County from 1703-1705. (Purse & Person, p. 622)

Hancock Custis and Mary Browne had the following children:

+ 259 i. John⁶ Custis.

260 ii. Theophilus Custis. Theophilus died 1733.

261 iii. Southey Custis was born 1704.

262 iv. Levin Custis was born 1706. Levin died 1735 at 29 years of age.

263 v. Leah Custis was born 1710. She married Levin Gale.
