She married Peter Smith Bowdoin in Northampton Co., VA, October 17, 1818. Peter was born February 26, 1796. Peter was the son of Peter Bowdoin and Margaret "Peggy" Smith. Peter died May 25, 1875 at 79 years of age. Buried at Christ Church, Eastville, VA. (Bill Wilkins) Buried at Christ Church cemetery, Eastville, VA.

Peter Smith Bowdoin and Susan M. Jacob had the following children:

1378 i. John R.¹⁰ Bowdoin was born July 30, 1819. John died July 6, 1894 at 74 years of age. He married twice. He married Amanda A. W. Hinman before 1849. Amanda was born March 19, 1829. Amanda died October 19, 1883 at 54 years of age. Buried at Parksley cemetery, Accomack Co., VA.

He married Elizabeth E. Custis after 1883. Elizabeth was born October 13, 1839. Elizabeth died May 24, 1899 at 59 years of age. Buried at Modest Town, Accomack Co., VA.

1379 ii. Peter Smith Bowdoin(Jr.) was born October 23, 1820. He died as a child.

1380 iii. William Jacob Bowdoin was born November 1, 1822. William died 1855 at 32 years of age.
