339. Custis Mercer⁹ DUNTON (William⁸, Rickards⁷, William⁶, Rickards⁵, Elizabeth⁴ MOORE, Margaret³ TILNEY, John², John¹) (#805) was born June 18, 1816. (ref: Graven Stone) Custis died January 30, 1896 in Accomack Co VA, at 79 years of age.

He married twice. He married Caroline Evans HARMANSON in Northampton Co VA, 1845. (Caroline Evans HARMANSON is #928.) Caroline was born 1816. Caroline was the daughter of John Henry HARMANSON and Catherine COLEBURNE. Caroline died January 29, 1846 in Northampton Co VA, at 29 years of age. He married Elizabeth Custis WILLIS in Accomack Co VA, 1852. (Elizabeth Custis WILLIS is #931.) Elizabeth was born in Accomack Co VA June 17, 1827. Elizabeth was the daughter of Littleton WILLIS and Mary ANN.

Custis Mercer DUNTON and Caroline Evans HARMANSON had the following children:

404 i. Caroline Mercer¹⁰ DUNTON (#934) was born January 29, 1846. Caroline died June 4, 1853 at 7 years of age.

405 ii. Custis Harmanson DUNTON (#935) was born January 29, 1846. Custis died March 23, 1864 in Richmond VA, at 18 years of age. 19th Virginia Battalion Artillery.

Custis Mercer DUNTON and Elizabeth Custis WILLIS had the following children:

406 iii. Littleton W. DUNTON (#936) was born August 14, 1853. Littleton died July 9, 1887 at 33 years of age.

407 iv. Carrie Elizabeth DUNTON (#937) was born February 24, 1855. Carrie died February 1, 1856 at less than one year of age.

408 v. Mollie Beach DUNTON (#938) was born December 9, 1856.

409 vi. James Thomas DUNTON (#939) was born April 17, 1859. James died September 28, 1863 at 4 years of age.

410 vii. Beckie DUNTON (#940) was born May 28, 1860. Beckie died June 2, 1860 at less than one year of age.

411 viii. Mercer E. DUNTON (#941) was born 1861. Mercer died 1939 at 78 years of age.

412 ix. Betty Custis DUNTON (#942) was born 1865.

413 x. Murer E. DUNTON (#943) was born 1867.
