115. JOSHUA⁵ WHITTINGTON (ISAAC⁴, SOUTHY³, WILLIAM², WILLIAM¹) (#5665) was born about 1765.

He married MARY "POLLY" MARSHALL in Woodford Co. KY, November 10, 1791. (Kentucky Marriage Records, Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, MD, 1983) (MARY "POLLY" MARSHALL is #5666.) Went to Woodford Co., Kentucky. The 1810 tax list shows Joshua with 9 children. ("Annals of Woodford Co. KY;" Railey, "History of Woodford County") He later moved to Missouri. The name of his son, Humphrey Whittington, suggests that Joshua's wife may have been a descendant of Humphrey Marshall of Isle of Wight Co. VA, whose descendants moved across North Carolina and to Kentucky.

263 ix. HUMPHREY WHITTINGTON (#7144). He married ELIZABETH BURCHFIELD. (ELIZABETH BURCHFIELD is #7145.)

264 x. KATE WHITTINGTON (#7146). She married JAMES DEARING. (JAMES DEARING is #7147.)
