78. William Fleming⁵ Bowen (Whittington⁴, William³, William², William¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD September 6, 1761.

He married Zipporah Burbage in Worcester Co., MD, January 31, 1803. Zipporah died December 26, 1849. Marriage license of a William Bowen to Zipporah Burbage and William's wife, Zipporah Bowen was buried at the Bowen cemetery in 1849, Knox Co., MO. There is interest that Zipporah, wife of William Bowen, may have been Zipporah Truitt, daughter of Thomas & Andasia Truitt of Worcester County.

William Fleming Bowen and Zipporah Burbage had the following children:

149 i. Jane⁶ Bowen was born about 1805. Jane died February 17, 1851 in Marion Co., MO, at 45 years of age. She married twice. She married William D. Jones in Worcester Co., MD, January 27, 1827. William was born about 1803. William was the son of Thomas Jones and Hester "Hesse" Fisher. William died December 10, 1836 in Marion Co., MO, at 33 years of age. 150 ii. Gatty Bowen was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1806. She married Joshua Hoshier in Worcester Co., MD, January 27, 1827.

151 iii. Jesse Bowen was born in Worcester Co., MD January 1, 1807. Jesse died July 30, 1888 in MO, at 81 years of age. He married Patience Dunn about 1838. Patience was born about 1821. He settled in Macon Co., MO. (manuscript-A Journey to Missouri in 1838)

152 iv. Stephen M. Bowen was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1809. He married Margaret Tarr in Worcester Co., MD, May 24, 1834. He went west with his brothers in 1838 and stayed in Hannibal, MO. 153 v. Charles W. Bowen was born in Worcester Co., MD January 11, 1813. Charles died April 27, 1900 in Knox Co., MO, at 87 years of age. He married "Mahaley" Mahala P. Bradford in Worcester Co., MD, 1830. "Mahaley" was born in Worcester Co., MD February 13, 1816. "Mahaley" died September 7, 1899 in Knox Co., MO, at 83 years of age. He settled in Knox Co., MO. 154 vi. William M. Bowen was born in Worcester Co., MD October 9, 1814. William died May 2, 1896 in MO, at 81 years of age. He married Sarah Bradford October 16, 1837. She was the sister of Mahaley Bradford, who married her husband's brother, Charles. He settled in Knox Co., MO (was Shelby Co.).
