He married three times. He married Susanna Smith in Accomack Co., VA, January 11, 1811. He married Elizabeth Smith in Accomack Co., VA, February 23, 1813. He married Rachel Boggs in Accomack Co., VA, March 7, 1820. Rachel was born October 22, 1784. Rachel was the daughter of John S. Boggs and Margaret "Peggy" Smith.
