399. John Purnell⁶ Marshall (Zadock⁵, Elizabeth⁴ Purnell, John³, Thomas², Thomas¹) was born 1802. John died 1870.

He married twice. He married Sarah G. Williams in Worcester Co., MD, March 24, 1835. (Mary Beth & Vanessa Long, Worcester Co. Marriage Licenses 1795-1865, p. 83) Sarah was the daughter of Kendal Williams.

He married Martha Mumford (widow of James) in Worcester Co., MD, January 9, 1838. (Mary Beth & Vanessa Long, Worcester Co. Marriage Licenses 1795-1865, p. 89)

Martha was born about 1815. John and his family are listed in the 1850 census of Worcester County. Martha's 14 year old son, Henry Mumford, was living in the household. (notes of James H. Marshall)

729 i. Sally⁷ Marshall was born 1836. Sally was named grandaughter in the will of Kendal Williams in 1846, Worcester.

John Purnell Marshall and Martha Mumford(widow of James) had the following children:

732 iv. George M. Marshall was born about 1848.
