He married Sabra P. Townsend September 24, 1807. Sabra was born May 9, 1791. Sabra died December 23, 1856 at 65 years of age.

John Scarburgh and Sabra P. Townsend had the following children:

1358 i. John A.¹⁰ Scarburgh. John died about 1834.

1359 ii. Samuel H. Scarburgh was born in Accomack Co., VA 1805. Samuel died October, 1833 in Accomack Co., VA, at 28 years of age. He married twice. He married Elizabeth H. Bayly March 1, 1832. Elizabeth was born about 1810. Elizabeth was the daughter of Isma Bayly and Elizabeth D. Kellam. Elizabeth died before July 29, 1833 at approximately 23 years of age. He married Demary S. Mears in Accomack Co., VA, July 29, 1833.
