He married Elizabeth (wife of Stringer Tilney). Elizabeth died after 1794. She was executrix for her son, Jacob's, estate. Stringer names his children in his will of March 30, 1785. (Leon deValinger, Jr., Calendar of Sussex Co. DE Probate Records 1680-1800)

Stringer Tilney and Elizabeth(wife of Stringer Tilney) had the following children:

child 169 i. Jacob Stringer6 Tilney. Jacob died after March 20, 1794 in Sussex Co., DE. Jacob's will was dated March 20, 1794. He named his brothers John and Jonathan, sister Polly, and his mother, Betty Tilney, was named executor. (Leon deValinger, Calendar of Sussex Co. DE Probate Records, p. 252)
