89. Jonathan5 Tilney (Hezekiah4, John3, John2, John1) was born after 1737. Jonathan died before 1771 in Sussex Co., DE. (Ralph T. Whitelaw, Virginia's Eastern Shore)

He married Elizabeth Stockley about 1756. Jonathan was a planter and moved to the vicinity of Milton, Delaware about 1800. (Virkus, Abridged Compendium of American Genealogy, Vol. 2, pp. 172-173)

Jonathan's wife, Elizabeth, married Charles Waller after his death. "Charles Waller, the Petitioner, intermarried with the widow and relict of Jonathan Tilney late of this county who died seized of a parcel of land which yet lies undivided...prays for appointment of five freeholders to lay of the widow's third; granted and appoints made February 29, 1772." (Orphans Court records Gustave Anjou, The Tilney Family 1658-1902, p. 66)

Jonathan Tilney and Elizabeth Stockley had the following children:

child 177 i. John6 Tilney was born about 1756. On November 2nd, 1770, John Tilney, a minor, past 14 years, son of Jonathan Tilney, de'd., prayed admittance to choose for his guardian Charles Wallar. (Gustave Anjou, The Tilney Family 1658-1902, p. 66)

child + 178 ii. Stringer Tilney was born May 11, 1769.
