115. James⁵ Whittington (Isaac⁴, Southy³, William², William¹) was born in Somerset Co., MD about 1764. James died 1849 in Somerset Co., MD, at 85 years of age.

He married Sarah "Sally" Coulbourn in Somerset Co., MD, December 18, 1799. Sarah was the daughter of William Coulbourn and Nancy Brittingham. James' will dated April 27, 1849 Somerset Co. (Ruth T. Dryden, Somerset Co. MD Will Book JP5, San Diego, CA, p. 42) (Descendants provided by Dan Trimble)

James Whittington and Sarah "Sally" Coulbourn had the following children:

272 i. Thomas E.⁶ Whittington. Thomas died 1902. He married Rebecca Collins Polk in Somerset Co., MD, November 28, 1851. Rebecca was the daughter of Whittington Polk and Rebecca Adams. Thomas' descendants are continued in "The Littleton Heritage."

276 v. Littleton Whittington was born about 1808. Littleton died 1890 at 82 years of age. He married twice. He married Hannah Ann Handy in Somerset Co., MD, December 22, 1846. Hannah was the daughter of William Handy and Martha Cox. He married Julia Handy in Somerset Co., MD, June 26, 1855. Julia was the daughter of William Handy and Martha Cox. (Dan Trimble)

277 vi. William C. Whittington was born 1809. William died 1886 at 77 years of age. He married Sarah Elizabeth Polk in Somerset Co., MD, March 23, 1847. Sarah was the daughter of Whittington Polk and Rebecca Adams. (Dan Trimble) William's descendants are continued in "The Littleton Heritage."
