His father was John Marshall, deceased, and John's wife was Frances, now wife of John Stevens, Esq. Thomas' grandfather is shown as Thomas John Marshall, deceased, and Thomas' wife was named Brittania. In 1801, John Stevens, Esq. and his wife Frances deeded to her son Thomas Marshall their interest in "Carthegenia." (Dorchester Co. land records 19.185 researched by Vern Skinner)

In 1802, Thomas Marshall and his wife Brittania sold "Carthegenia" to William McDonald & James McDonald (Dorchester Co. land records 19.179); Thomas later registers a mortgage for the property. In 1804, the lands of Thomas Marshall are sold for debt, land was recovered by Theophilus Marshall. (Dorchester Co. land records 21.77, researched by Vern Skinner)

In 1809, Brittania Marshall married William Newton. (Dorchester Co. MD marriage licenses)

Thomas Marshall and Brittania Robinson had the following child:
