267. William7 Marshall (Theophilus6, Thomas John5, Thomas4, John3, Thomas2, John1) was born September 30, 1779. William died 1820 in Dorchester Co., MD, at 40 years of age. He married Elizabeth (wife of William Marshall). Elizabeth, wife of a William Marshall d. 1820 Dorchester, married 2nd Thomas Wingate before 1832. William's date of birth was taken from his apprenticeship indenture to learn the business of County Clerk under Henry Dickinson, Dorchester Deeds HD 4, p. 592, November 1, 1793. (Notes of James H. Marshall) William and his father were witnesses in the Dorchester County Court in October, 1804 Trippe vs Pritchett. (Dorcester County Maryland Genealogical Magazine, Vol. XII, No. 1, May, 1992, p.9) It is not proved that the William Marshall d. 1820 is one and the same as son of Theophilus. 1832 Tax List of Cambridge District #7, Dorchester Co., MD shows: A William Marshall coll on Thomas Wingate. On the same tax list are: Mark N. Marshall, Levin Marshall, Jonathan Marshall, Ann Maria Marshall, and Lavinia A. Marshall.
