258. Elisha⁵ Purnell (William⁴, Elisha³, Thomas², Thomas¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1760. Elisha died before October 14, 1802 in Worcester Co., MD. Administrative bonds for Elisha Purnell Esq. of William, posted October 22, 1802 by James Selby of Eze., Zadock Sturgis and Ephraim K. Wilson.

He married Sarah Purnell in Worcester Co., MD, about 1790. Sarah was born September 6, 1766. Sarah was the daughter of Lemuel Purnell(Judge) and Dennis Hopkins. He received "Fairfield" from his father in 1794. He served as a Private, Worcester Militia, Sinepuxent Battalion, Capt. Elisha Purnell's Company, 1779/1780 (Henry C. Peden, Revolutionary Patriots of Worcester & Somerset Cos.) His children were named in the will of Littleton Robins Sr. in 1815. Elisha appears in the 1800 census 2M-10, 1M26-45, 1F10-15, 1F16-26.
