He married Henrietta Purnell in Worcester Co., MD, about 1793. Henrietta was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1770. Henrietta was the daughter of Lemuel Purnell(Judge) and Dennis Hopkins.

He made a will in Worcester Co., MD, November 30, 1799. (Worcester Will Book JBR)

John Purnell(Dr.) and Henrietta Purnell had the following children:
