Ellen was born in Worcester Co., MD November 28, 1843. Ellen was the daughter of William Undrill Purnell and Eleanor "Ellen" Horsey Robins. Ellen died July 20, 1918. Her descendants are traced further in The Littleton Heritage. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage, p. 423) James and Ellen are buried at All Hallows Episcopal Cemetery at Snow Hill.
