959. John Outten⁷ Sturgis (III) (John Outten⁶, John Outten⁵, Mary⁴ Outten, Sarah³ Purnell, John², Thomas¹) was born 1803. John died 1872.

He married Eliza Nelson in Worcester Co., MD, December 26, 1826. Eliza was born 1814. Eliza was the daughter of Joel Nelson and Priscilla Sturgis. Eliza died 1867. (Floyd C. Otter, Ash Tree Echo, Jan. 1981, Vol. XVI, Fresno Genealogical Society) John was named in his mother's 1837 will and appears in the 1840 census of Worcester County.
