801. John William Upshur⁸ Hack (Peter⁷, Ann⁶ Custis, Henry⁵, Margaret⁴ Michael, Elizabeth³ Thorowgood, Adam², William¹) was born 1797. John died December 21, 1855 at 58 years of age.

He married Sabra Corbin Cropper in Accomack Co., VA, December 18, 1823. Sabra was born about 1799. Sabra was the daughter of Thomas Cropper and Elizabeth Handy Waters. Sabra died December 8, 1879 at 80 years of age. Sabra moved to Baltimore after 1860 and was living with two of her daughters. The 1870 Baltimore census lists her with Amanda, who was a Riley at the time, and with Sabra, who had married Arthur James Jacob. (Lynn T. 1157 ii. John William Hack was born about 1823. John died 1849 at 26 years of age.

1158 iii. Amanda Brown Hack was born 1825. Amanda died March, 1899 in Baltimore, MD, at 73 years of age. She married twice. She married Marvin or Samuel A. Hart. She married John Ryley before 1870. She is Amanda Riley in the 1870 census, Baltimore, MD. (Lynn T. Hebden)

+ 1159 iv. Elizabeth Ann Hack was born 1830.

1160 v. Scarbugh Corbin Hack was born 1833. Scarbugh died 1897 at 64 years of age. She married Arthur James Jacob(Jr.) in Accomack Co., VA, July 23, 1856. Arthur was born in Northampton Co., VA 1827. Arthur was the son of Arthur James Jacob and Sally Thomas. Arthur died 1860 at 33 years of age.

1161 vi. Henry Clay Hack was born in Accomack Co., VA February 9, 1844. Henry died February 17, 1916 in Baltimore, MD, at 72 years of age. He married Alice Ann Walker. She was the daughter of John Walker and Mary Kellam. He served in the Confederate Army, 39th and 16th VA Infantry. Henry and Alice had three daughters. (death certificate-Lynn T. Hebden)

1162 vii. Cave Hack was born in Accomack Co., VA 1844. Cave died June 10, 1858 at 13 years of age.
