He married twice. He married Sarah Manning in Norfolk, VA, May 17, 1819. (George Holbert Tucker, Norfolk City Marriage Bonds 1797-1850, p. 82)

Sarah died before 1828. He married Hannah Nickerson in Norfolk, VA, March 18, 1828. She was Mrs. Hannah Nickerson. (George Holbert Tucker, Norfolk City Marriage Bonds 1797-1850, p. 112)

Hannah died November 8, 1865. (Thomas Underhill Family Bible copied by Pierce Eichelberger) John Thorowgood was of Norfolk Co. and had three children, one of whom was named Francis. It is not proved that the Francis Thorogood of the 1830 census Norfolk Co. is, indeed, the same Francis, son of John Thorowgood & Bridget Guy. However, the names and dates found in the Thomas Underhill Family Bible match up to the children shown in the 1830 census.

George b. 1828 would be -5, Adolphus b. 1825 is male 5-10, James b. 1820 is male 10-15, Francis 30-40; Corenia is female -5, Emerline is female 5-10, Hannah, Francis' 2nd wife is 30-40. Casana would not be listed on the 1830 census. The other female 10-15 is likely a daughter of 2nd wife, Hannah. Francis had 10 slaves in 1830.
