Third Generation

5. Ursula3 Scarburgh (Ursula2 Whittington, William1) birth date unknown. Ursula died about 1730.

She married Richard Bayly (Jr.)(Capt.) in Accomack Co., VA, before September 19, 1693. Richard was the son of Richard Bayly and Mary Jones. Richard died before June 1, 1708 in Accomack Co., VA. (Stratton Nottingham, Wills & Admin. Acc. Co. p.37) Named his wife Ursilia, sons: Henry, Richard, Edmund and Whittington, and daughters: Lacey, Ursilia and Joyce, and his brother, Edmund. Richard's father named his grandsons: Edmund, Henry and Richard, as sons of Richard and his wife Rosana. The other children are probably by Ursula Whittington. However, the will of William Whittington named two sons of Ursula Whittington: Edmond and Whittington??

The Bayly/Bayley line is NOT solid and has been pieced together from will and land abstracts. The ensuing Edmund/Edmonds can well be confused. William Whittington d.1720 Somerset Co. MD named the sons of Ursula as "kinsmen." (Myers & Dorman, Purse & Person, p. 548) (Children of Ursula provided by Dan Trimble)

Ursula Scarburgh and Richard Bayly(Jr.)(Capt.) had the following children:

child + 17 i. Lacey4 Bayly was born about 1693.

child + 18 ii. Edmund Bayly was born about 1693.

child + 19 iii. Whittington Bayly was born about 1695.

child 20 iv. Ursilia Whittington Bayly was born in Accomack Co., VA about 1697. She married Unknown Harmon before 1725. Edmund Bayly d. 1725 named Ursula Whittington Harmon and her descendants in his will. (Nottingham p.76, Whitelaw)

child 21 v. Joyce Bayly was born in Accomack Co., VA about 1699.
