197. ROBERT NAIRN⁶ MARSHALL (MARY "POLLY"⁵ WHITTINGTON, SOUTHY⁴, SOUTHY³, WILLIAM², WILLIAM¹) (#386) was born in Somerset Co MD May 4, 1780. ROBERT died January 18, 1825 in Somerset Co MD, at 44 years of age.

He married ELISABETH HALL in Somerset Co MD, before 1809. Robert's wife was identified as Elisabeth in his father's will. Charles Hall, in his will dated 1820 (Ruth Dryden, Somerset Will Book JP4) names his sons: Samuel, John, Henry and Levin, and daughters Hetty Hall and Betsy Marshall. Levin Hall was named administrator of Robert Marshall's estate. (F. Edward Wright, Maryland Eastern Shore Newspaper Abstracts) Robert and Elisabeth named their son, Charles, probably in honor of her father, Charles Hall. A marriage record has not been found.

ELISABETH was born in Somerset Co MD March 5, 1781. ELISABETH was the daughter of CHARLES HALL and ESTHER (wife of Charles Hall). ELISABETH died October 19, 1838 in Someret Co MD, at 57 years of age. Robert and Elisabeth lived on the family homeplace, "Tarso," in the Brinkley SE District of Somerset Co. MD. Robert left "Tarso" to his son, Robert.(Somerset tax and will records, Clerk's Office, copied by William Marshall Scott)

ROBERT NAIRN MARSHALL and ELISABETH HALL had the following children:

+ 359 i. MARY WHITTINGTON⁷ MARSHALL was born December 26, 1809.

+ 360 ii. ROBERT HENRY MARSHALL was born July 1, 1813.

361 iii. JOHN NAIRN MARSHALL (#396) was born in Somerset Co MD 1816.

+ 362 iv. ELIZABETH HESTER MARSHALL was born February 27, 1820.

+ 363 v. CHARLES THOMAS MARSHALL was born August 4, 1823.
