72. Zadock6 Marshall (Sr.) (John5, Isaac4, John3, Thomas2, John1) birth date unknown. Zadock died after June 17, 1836 in Worcester Co., MD. He married twice. He married Huldah Purnell after 1790. Huldah was the daughter of Elisha Purnell and Mary Ayres. Huldah died before 1796. Huldah was named in the will of her uncle, Azariah, in 1778. She is not named in her father's will of 1800 and neither is Zadock Marshall, but Elisha names grandson, Jepthat Purnell Marshall. (Melanie Ayres Merryweather, Genealogy of the Purnell Family, p. 23; Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co. MD Wills JBR f. 126, p. 8) He married Peggy Costen in Worcester Co., MD, November 25, 1796. (Robert Barnes, MD Marriages 1778-1800, Baltimore, MD, Genealogical Publishing Co., 1979) In the 1790 census of Worcester Co. MD, Zadock was a single man with 5 slaves. He lived two residences away from his brother, Isaac, and next door to his father. Zadock was in Sussex Co. DE in 1799 when his daughter, Mary was baptized. Zadock was back in Worcester for the 1810 census. Zadock's will dated June 17, 1836 names the following tracts: "Scanderson," "Tauton," and "Marshall's Industry" all in Worcester County.
