Margaret was born about 1789.

He made a will in Worcester Co., MD, April 14, 1844. William's will is noted by Ruth Dryden in her abstract Book LPS for Worcester County as too faded to read.

William's will was probated in Worcester Co., MD, June, 1844. William received the tract, "Hudsons Ruin" from his father's will. He was named by his brother, Isaac, who left him lands left by their uncle, Isaac Marshall.

This is probably the William Marshall, Captain, 9th Regiment, Worcester County, August 11, 1812 "Republican Star." (F. Edward Wright, Maryland Eastern Shore Newspaper Abstracts)

His will is not legible. The 1850 census of Worcester Co., MD, 5th Election District, shows Margaret Marshall, 61, and Leticia Marshall 41. James H. Head notes that William was the only Marshall to have married a Margaret in the appropriate time period that she appear in the census and this suggests that this is the family of William Purnell Marshall. William Purnell Marshall and Margaret Buckmaster had the following children:
