He married Sallie Jenkins. Elijah was under 21 in 1808 when his father left him the northern part of his plantation. Administration was granted to George Bunting October 27, 1823. (notes of M.K. Miles - Accomack Co. Orders 1822-24, p. 265)

Elijah Bunting and Sallie Jenkins had the following child:

576 i. Gillet⁸ Bunting was born in Accomack Co., VA 1823. He married Rosa Johnson. Rosa was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Johnson. Emigrated to Indiana and was living there in 1854, when he sold 55 acres in Accomack.
