306. Arthur Wainhouse⁶ Downing (Dr.) (Edmund W. P.⁵, Elizabeth⁴ Wainhouse, Francis³, Francis², Patience¹ "V") was born in Northampton Co., VA October 17, 1815. Arthur died November 21, 1901 in Northampton Co., VA, at 86 years of age. His body was interred in Northampton Co., VA, Old Downing Cemetery.

He married twice. He married Mary Parramore Bayly in Accomack Co., VA, November 8, 1837. Mary was born in Cedar Grove, Northampton Co., VA November 16, 1818. Mary was the daughter of James Upshur Bayly and Esther Burton Parramore. Mary died December 20, 1863 in Northampton Co., VA, at 45 years of age. Her body was interred in Northampton Co., VA, Old Downing Cemetery. He married Mary G. Hoopes after 1863. Mary was born in PA February 9, 1832. Mary died September 1, 1911 in Northampton Co., VA, at 79 years of age.

513 i. Anna E.⁷ Downing was born December 1, 1842. Anna died after 1866. She married Nathaniel Potter Henderson(Dr.) in Northampton Co., VA, February 15, 1866. Nathaniel was born February 21, 1841. Nathaniel was the son of John Mckeill Henderson(Dr.) and Louisa W. Addison. Nathaniel died January 4, 1895 at 53 years of age. 1850 census. Buried at End View, Northampton Co., VA.

514 ii. Emory "Emma" P. Downing was born January 23, 1848. Emory died July 14, 1913 at 65 years of age. She married William J. Mapp in Northampton Co., VA, November 7, 1867. William was born in Northampton Co., VA 1840. William was the son of Victor Augustus Mapp(Sr.) and Elizabeth Nicholls Scott. William died June 24, 1907 at 66 years of age. William was a farmer and a teacher. 1850 census. Buried at Belle Haven Cemetery, Accomack Co., VA. Buried at Belle Haven cemetery, Accomack Co., VA.

515 iii. Margaret H. Downing was born March 14, 1850. Margaret died June 14, 1900 at 50 years of age. She married Frederick Waddey in Northampton Co., VA, April 13, 1869. Frederick was born about 1842. Frederick was the son of Edward R. Waddey and Harriet Nottingham.
