196. Ann "Nancy"5 Purnell (William4, John3, Thomas2, Thomas1) was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1775.

She married Reuben Anderson. Named orphan of William Purnell October 12, 1779 and his mother given guardianship; age 4. (David Heise, Wor. Co. Orphan's Court Proceedings, pp. 86-89; Liber JW15) A legislative act of February 9, 1796 signed at Dover, DE allowed Reuben Anderson to bring in slaves of Ann Purnell Anderson from Worcester County by his intermarriage to Ann Purnell. In 1800, John Purnell with wife Elizabeth Purnell of Sussex Co. DE and Reuben Anderson with wife Nancy Anderson of Kent Co. DE appoint brother and friend Thomas Purnell of Maryland to sell equity. Nancy Anderson later appears in Guilford Co., NC and the family connected by marriage to the Dyers family. The family groups moved to IN with a Purnell Chance. Purnell Chance & Starling Barnes had a son named Tilgham/Tiligham Chance. (notes of Robert J. Neveaux; sons Thomas and William by notes of Willard D. Purnell)

Ann "Nancy" Purnell and Reuben Anderson had the following children:
