489. Mary6 Purnell (Levi5, Levi4, Matthew3, Thomas2, Thomas1) was born in Worcester Co., MD before 1782.

She married William Davis. William was the son of Nixon Davis. William died 1821 in Worcester Co., MD. William was not named in his father's will; however, his will states he is son of Nixon. William's will was dated October 23, 1821 and probated December 11, 1821. He names wife Mary and children: James, Isaac, Thomas, Phyllis and Sarah. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co., MD Will Book MH, f.503. She was named in her grandmother Brittingham's will of 1782, but not in her father's will of 1788. Thomas Dixon Purnell names a Thomas Duncan Purnell Davis, son of William Davis. William Davis d. 1821 was the son of Nixon Davis (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co., MD Wills MH2, p.37). William left "Purnell's Conclusion" to his wife, Mary. He had children: James Dixon Davis, Isaac William Davis, Phyllis Davis, Sarah Davis and Thomas Duncan Purnell Davis. In 1785, Levi Purnell obtained all rights to the lands of Solomon Brittingham for "Cannadee." In 1790 Matthew Purnell Davis, wife Margaret, sold 12 acres to John Pope Mitchell. In 1791, Delilah Purnell, widow of Levi and heir of Solomon Brittingham, sold to son Thomas Dixon Purnell. In 1801, Thomas Dixon Purnell sold to Samuel Ennis. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co.
