He married Elizabeth Custis. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Custis(Mjr.) and Cassandra "Casey" Wise. Elizabeth died after 1767. She was named in her grandfather, John Wise's, will. (Bill Wilkins) (Bill Burton, ghote)

John West("Great John") and Elizabeth Custis had the following children:

974 i. Tabitha⁹ West. She married Henry Custis in Accomack Co., VA, December 23, 1813. Henry was the son of Henry Custis and Polly. Henry's descendants can be found in the Mears Collection at the Eastern Shore Public Library.
