178. Stringer6 Tilney (Jonathan5, Hezekiah4, John3, John2, John1) was born May 11, 1769. Stringer died 1826 at 57 years of age.

He married Nancy Williams. Nancy was born 1778. Nancy died 1823 at 45 years of age. Stringer was a planter. (Dates of birth and death of Stringer and Nancy found in Virkus', Abridged Compendium of American Genealogy, Vol. 2, 1926, pp. 172-173.)

NOTES: John Tilney b. 1804 d. 1855, whose father and grandfather may have both been named Stringer, married Lydia Clarke (1800-1841) in 1826. After Lydia's death, John married her sister, Hannah Clarke. John and Lydia had children: Anne E. Tilney 1829-1835 Aletta Malvina Clark Tilney 1832-1916 Riley Wilson Tilney 1828-1900 Susan B. Tilney 834-1835 Robert Henry Tilney 1838-1864 Captain Tilney Clarke Conwell descends from this line. Captain Conwell compiled "Conwells of Dyer's Delight" in 1984, and "Ships and Men of the Broad Kill" in 1966. Cpt. Conwell died in San Francisco. Possibly write to Milton Library, Milton, DE for missing generations.
