446. MARY VIRGINIA "JENNIE"⁸ MARSHALL (CHARLES THOMAS⁷, ROBERT NAIRN⁶, MARY "POLLY"⁵ WHITTINGTON, SOUTHY⁴, SOUTHY³, WILLIAM², WILLIAM¹) (#403) was born in Somerset Co MD October 16, 1850. MARY died June 15, 1932 at 81 years of age.

She married JOSEPH COULBOURN (COLEBURN OR COLBURN) WHITTINGTON in Somerset Co MD, May 31, 1871. (JOSEPH COULBOURN (COLEBURN OR COLBURN) WHITTINGTON is #432.) JOSEPH was born June 16, 1849. JOSEPH was the son of SOUTHY FASSIT WHITTINGTON and MARY WHITTINGTON MARSHALL. Joe enlisted in the Union army at age 15 and was given an honorable discharge when it was discovered he was under age. Joe and Jennie were living in Kansas City, MO and then moved to Gold Hill in Monrovia, CA. Joe was a tailor and worked in Los Angeles. (C. Hayward Marshall, Sr., Marjorie Whittington Lankford, Edna Waddell Whittington) A twenty-two page, hand-written letter from Jane Frances Hayward, "Aunt Fannie," tells much of the life and times of the Whittington and Marshall families while Rush and his family were in California (written to C. Hayward Marshall in 1948)

464 i. LUCILLE "LUCIE" MARSHALL⁸ WHITTINGTON (#433) was born April 27, 1872. LUCILLE died February 22, 1935 in Pasadena, CA, at 62 years of age. She married PETER WEIRICH. (PETER WEIRICH is #434.)

465 ii. IDA EMILY WHITTINGTON (#435) was born November 20, 1875. IDA died 1969 at 93 years of age. She married A. ELLICOTT DOUGLASS. (A. ELLICOTT DOUGLASS is #436.)

466 iii. FLORENCE CHARLES WHITTINGTON (#437) was born February 26, 1880. FLORENCE died May 11, 1958 at 78 years of age. She married MILTON STEWART LANKFORD in Somerset Co MD, April 2, 1903. (MILTON STEWART LANKFORD is #438.) MILTON was born in Somerset Co MD October 4, 1873. MILTON was the son of BENJAMIN FRANKLIN LANKFORD and AMANDA E. STEWART PORTER. MILTON died March 20, 1952 at 78 years of age.

467 iv. CHARLES WILLIAM WHITTINGTON (#439) was born in Kansas City MO July 11, 1883. He married SUSAN ROWE. (SUSAN ROWE is #440.) SUSAN was born May 16, 1890. SUSAN died September 6, 1980 at 90 years of age.

468 v. JESSIE ESTELLE WHITTINGTON (#441) was born in Kansas City MO February 26, 1884. JESSIE died June, 1970 at 86 years of age. She married HARRY LECATO SMITH. (HARRY LECATO SMITH is #442.) HARRY died December, 1967 in Charlottesville, VA.

469 vi. FRANK SOUTHY WHITTINGTON (#443) was born in Kansas City MO August 19, 1890. FRANK died 1955 in California, at 64 years of age. He married twice. He married AMY FAUQUIER. (AMY FAUQUIER is #444.) He married EDNA WADDELL. (EDNA WADDELL is #445.) EDNA was born in Portland, OR November 22, 1905. EDNA is the daughter of EDWARD WADDELL and IDA PEARL. Frank served in WWI, with nineteen months in Europe. (Edna Waddell Whittington)
