77. Lemuel4 Purnell (Judge) (Elisha3, Thomas2, Thomas1) was born October, 1730. Lemuel died 1771 in Worcester Co., MD. His body was interred in Public Landing, Worcester Co. MD, Abandoned Family Cemetery.

He married Dennis Hopkins in Worcester Co., MD, October 25, 1759. Dennis was the daughter of Nathaniel Hopkins. Dennis died 1776 in Worcester Co., MD. She made a will in Worcester Co., MD, December 8, 1774. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co., MD Wills JW4, p.37)

Dennis's will was probated in Worcester Co., MD, December 16, 1776.

Lemuel's will was probated in Worcester Co., MD, March 23, 1772. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co., MD Wills JW4, p.15) Lemuel was named in his father's will and received 50 acres of "Middle" as grandson of William Selby. He named his three daughters and two sons, with Henry Johnson and Samuel Handy as executors. The 1774 Debt Book entry for "Simpleton" shows heirs of Lemuell Purnell. (research of Vern Skinner)
